Celtic star David Turnbull could be set to be handed a contract extension until the year of 2026, adding a further two years on to his current deal.

As reported by the Daily Record, according to supposed ‘transfer specialist’ Ekrem Konur, the 22-year old could be set to sign fresh terms with the Hoops after a good start to the season in Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Turnbull has been one of the mainstays in the midfield for the 56-year old, alongside both Callum McGregor and Tom Rogic.

Having played so much football in the first half of the campaign, the former Motherwell man picked up an injury in the Scottish League Cup final and was visibly upset to be replaced in the showpiece fixture.

Celtic looks to be tying down more of their players to long-term deals, with Callum McGregor, Greg Taylor and Anthony Ralston all being handed contract extensions in recent months.

Now, there is no guarantee with the reliability of this source being pretty unknown. However, it would be a boost to see the club tie down another one of our assets in the middle of the park.
