SCOTT BROWN has reportedly turned down Western Melbourne after the new club offered him terms on a three-year deal to lure him away from Celtic Park according to SunSport.

Brown is in the last six months of his deal and is free to talk to any clubs interested in him, and Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has told Celtic fans their captain has earned the right to seriously think about his next contract which could be his last.

Western Melbourne were accepted into the A-League back in November and are now looking to build a squad for the 19/20 season.

Scott Brown has been high on the consortiums list of players to bring in to spearhead their challenge in the Australian League.

The fact the midfielder is available on a free has a massive bearing on their interest.

Celtic have offered Brown a new deal, but the midfielder is taking his time.

Opinion

With many thinking Scott Brown is going to be a less influential Celtic player going forward, there are some who think it’s the perfect time for the Celtic captain to say goodbye, especially if it’s after securing the 8th title in a row.

Brown hasn’t hidden his desire to get into coaching and perhaps management, could a prolonged Celtic stay offer some sort of coaching role to sweeten the deal?
