Celtic have reportedly offered pre-contract terms to Ligue 2 and Algerian midfielder Zinedine Ferhat.

The 28-year old has been linked with a move to Scotland on several occasions over the last few months, with Ferhat looking to secure an exit from Nimes as his contract runs down into the final six months.

As reported by the Daily Record, according to reports in France, Celtic are one of the first clubs to look to take advantage of his contract situation by offering pre-contract terms, which would allow him to join up with Ange Postecoglou’s side in the summer.

The report from Foot Mercato also states interest from Turkish league side Trabzonspor, whose transfer window currently remains open until February 8th.

The Algerian internationalist has attempted to force an exit from his current side, refusing to train or play with the rest of the squad.

Of course, at the moment, these reports are very unreliable but claim that Celtic have already made the first move to bring Ferhat to the club.

At this point in time, I think that would be somewhat of a surprise, especially given the way the midfielder forced his move away from his current club, refusing to train or play, which doesn’t sound like the sort of player Ange Postecoglou would want to introduce to his squad.
