It’s common knowledge now that Celtic are after a new striker to join the club alongside the likes of Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths.

In the last week there have been reports of several strikers who the club have been linked to, the latest of which to reportedly turn down a move to the club is highly rated Tottenham Hotspur striker, Troy Parrot.

According to The Independent, Parrot has turned down the chance to join Celtic in order to complete a season-long loan to English Championship side Millwall.

The young Irishman also had interest from clubs such as Preston, Swansea, Stoke and recently relegated Bournemouth.

This move may have been one that interested the Celtic’s recruitment team, but it could be a blessing in disguise that Parrot has turned the club down. If he did make the loan switch to Glasgow, it would be unlikely that we would see the 18-year old back at the club again, due to him being highly rated at Spurs.

There would also be a number of questions from the Celtic support, if he could hit the ground running due to his young age and Parrot likely not getting a lot of game time ahead of star man, Odsonne Edouard.
