JONNY HAYES move to Celtic just hasn’t worked out, the player has struggled to make the breakthrough at either side of a bad injury since joining the Hoops and the midfielders opportunities look bleak in the coming months.
Hayes was brought in by Rodgers because he knew the player very well and the manager thought he could do a job for the club. Unfortunately, it hasn’t panned out the way Rodgers or Hayes would have liked.
With the manager bemoaning his squad is too big, could reports today of Aberdeen looking to bring the player back to Pittodrie offer both parties a credible way out?
Celtic paid over £1million for Hayes back when they signed him and if they were to sell back to Aberdeen they would likely make a loss on that investment.
However, if the player is willing to go there and the club want the bloated squad trimmed down, is it a no brainer?
Aberdeen have already held talks with another Celtic midfielder, Lewis Morgan who may be moving to Pittodrie on loan.
