Reports this morning suggest Arsenal are ‘unwilling’ to meet Celtic’s valuation of Kieran Tierney. The press have put a £25m figure out there as the point Celtic would look to do a deal but the club have remained silent on what they would take for their star defender.

Whatever the price for Kieran Tierney is, reports from down south which have been cited by RecordSport reveal the London club won’t go as high as Celtic would like.

If that’s the case, the Scottish Champions would have no qualms about keeping Kieran at the club for longer. The board and the fans know what Kieran is worth and with the defender a die-hard Celtic fan he will not be banging down the door looking for the move to happen if it Arsenal don’t come through with the right amount of cash.

Celtic will not flinch and look to take the money prematurely and nor should they.

Having seen Virgil van Dijks transfer fee spiral to £76m after a couple of seasons with Southampton and Andy Robertson’s story in the Premier League – clubs can no longer low ball Celtic.
