Since joining during last summers transfer window, it has been a difficult time for Albian Ajeti at Celtic. After just 18 months, his time at the club could already be coming to an end.

The former Basel striker joined the club for a fee in the region of £5 million from English Premier League side West Ham.

Despite the big price-tag and getting off to a decent enough start with the Hoops in his first couple of appearances, he has struggled during his spell at Parkhead.

According to the Daily Record journalist Scott Burns, the club could look to cut their ties with the Swiss striker in the up-and-coming January window.

The report states that the sale of Ajeti, will help Ange Postecoglou continue to rebuild his squad, given that he isn’t in favour under the 56-year old and is also reportedly one of the highest earners.

Recent rumours have also suggested that Ange will target his former club for attacking player Daizen Maeda and Ajeti could be the one to make room for the Japanese forward.

Ultimately, it looks like Ajeti’s time with the club will soon be coming to an end. Especially after being left out of recent matchday squads, including last nights against Ferencvaros.
