It’s being reported this evening that John Kennedy has become one of the Hibernian boards top targets to replace Paul Heckingbottom and a formal approach is going to be made for the Celtic assistant.

SunSport claim the Easter Road hierarchy have been mulling over their next managerial move and they see John as an ideal candidate given his knowledge of Scottish football.

John has worked directly under three Celtic managers as a coach and indirectly under more. He has been at the club since he was a youngster and made his breakthrough to the first team before a devastating injury caused him to retire way before his time.

Climbing his way up the ladder at Celtic the coach now finds himself as a pivotal part of Neil Lennon’s set up with the assistant manager obviously having a desire to manage the club one day.

Could Hibernian provide a platform for John to cut his teeth or will the basket case of a club ultimately stop him from getting the job of his dreams down the line?
