According to French newspaper l’Equipe, Celtic’s resolve is about to be tested by Marseille as the French club look to buy Parkhead frontman Moussa Dembele.

It has been reported that the French side has been lying in wait until the English window closed shut before preparing a bid for the Celtic star.

The dame reports believe Marseille will lodge a £14million bid to land Moussa – a bid much lower than Celtic were willing to even entertain last year.

If Marseille are genuinely interested in the striker’s services they will have to bring more money to the table.

If the French club gets near Celtic’s evaluation of the player then it would not surprise fans in the slightest to see the board cash in on Moussa to make up the shortfall for not making the Champions League.

Moussa has two-years left to run on his deal, which means if he doesn’t sign a contract extension then Celtic will not be in full control of the price tag they get for him next summer.

Nobody wants to see Moussa leave but it stands to reason there is big interest in the talisman.

Putting all other things aside, would Celtic be in a position to say no to a £25million bid?

  1. We now need the money and time to cash in on a few players and rebuild. We’re still good enough to win everything in Scotland. This money will pave the way for quality players.

      • The hotel comes first but what Lawwell better get into his head that without a dominant Celtic both here in Scotland and winning in Europe his hotel won’t be attracting much visitors.
14 million they are having a laugh right??? Double that to 28 million and then it may be worth considering.
We have one of the best Managers and Coaches going but he can do only so much being undermined by the likes of Lawwell.
There should be no more of our best players sold on the cheap.
FFS the Board would want to get a grip of themselves. HH

  2. We need to sort out the defence, properly this time, not with sub standard players from lower division Scottish teams, no disrespect intended. Where has all the money gone from previous C,L qualifications? New lights? I dont see why we need to sell.

  3. Anything offered over 20 millions maybe. But who knows they may throw in a player or two. Hoops need a strong centreback, a striking midfielder, a Striker, a two footed right back.. And a goalkeeper. In the squad. But they will take any offers and only respond to sensible one’s.# Rip it up and start again #
