Reports overnight claimed Celtic have had a bid rejected for Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna with the Scottish Champions apparently make a £5m bid for the player according to an ‘exclusive’ from SunSport.

However, according to Record Sport, these reports are ‘wide of the marks’ and the club have NOT made any offer for the player since they had a £3.5m bid rebuffed in January.

Celtic are desperate to bring in some defenders but not many Celtic fans will be clamouring for the club to spend that type of money on Scott McKenna. The Dons have Scott under a long term deal and they can ask for whatever they want for the player but it doesn’t mean Celtic should pay the money.

Neil Lennon and his players fly out to their preseason tour this week with games in Austria and Switzerland. David Turnbull is expected to join the bhoys for the three games after breaking Motherwell’s transfer record to land the midfielder.

  1. Not saying scott McKenna is not a good player, but £5 million would be way to much for a work in progress and he is not what we need its CH that can come in and control that position and make it his own if you going pay £5 million i would like to think there are much better players out there who would be a good fit….
