Along with Celtic, current English Premier League Champions Liverpool are reportedly also interested in Sampdoria central defender Omar Colley.
The Italian side are looking for a fee around the £10 million mark, which would meet Colley’s release clause.
The 6 time European Champions are on the lookout for a back-up defender after Croatian Dejan Lovern departed for Russian side Zenit St Petersburg, so could turn to Italy for a cheap option. It is also reported that Colley would be keen on the move.
Interest from Celtic in the defender all relies on the future of Norwegian defender, Kristoffer Ajer. In the case that he would leave, they may have been tempted to splash the cash. However, currently that doesn’t appear to be the case but a lot can change in the last couple of weeks in the transfer window.
If Liverpool were to come in with an offer, there’s only one place you would expect Omar Colley to pick. Hopefully the hoops can keep hold of prized asset, Ajer so we do not need to go out and purchase another defender in this window.
