Celtic have been named as one of the sides who are reportedly interested in Rennes striker M’baye Niang.
According to journalist Sebastien Denis from French media outlet Foot Mercato, Niang looks to be on the move to Italian side Venezia, but Celtic are named as one of the other sides who have taken an interest in the 26-year old.

Niang has faced and even scored against the Hoops as recently as 2019 when Rennes took on Neil Lennon’s side, which qualified from the Europa League group that season.
It is expected that French striker Odsonne Edouard will be departing the club this summer, with his contract coming into the final year.
So, Ange Postecoglou’s side will require another striking option if that is the case.
Although it seems unlikely that Niang will end up in Glasgow at this stage, it is interesting to see the club pursuing a player in this area of the pitch.
What we need is more new faces
Plenty faces at Celtic park but we need experienced guys who can play and be committed to the club
Wish there was some substance to this report, he would be a great signing
