Celtic captain Scott Brown is reportedly set to exit the club this summer when his contract comes to an end to join Aberdeen as number two to new boss Stephen Glass
According to the Daily Record, Brown is set to end a 14-year stay at the Hoops to join up with his former Hibernian team-mate and form the new management team at the Dons for the up-and-coming season.
It was thought that Celtic was going to offer the 35-year old another one-year deal, however, Brown has a verbal agreement in place to join Aberdeen next season.
This move certainly comes with a lot of conflicted thoughts in the support.
It must be said, we have seen a regression in the Celtic captain in the last year or so on the field, in what has been an extremely poor season for not only himself but the club as a whole.
In saying that, everyone knows the sort of impact that Brown has on the club and it may have been a sensible decision to have him stick around for one more year with such a massive rebuild ahead.
One thing that must be said is when Brown does depart he will go down as a modern-day great at this club with the amount of success and trophies he has brought over the 14-years he has spent at Parkhead.
