Keith Jackson and the Daily Record are claiming the Glasgow Derby later this month will be discussed at a crisis meeting involving the government and representatives of both clubs.
The SFA and SPFL have been told to deal with the league winners after the sorry scenes over the weekend but have raised major concerns there could be a free for all for the derby if both sets of fans approach the ground.
Then paper writes: ‘Record Sport can reveal the Hampden top brass Ian Maxwell and Neil Doncaster were asked to hold an urgent video conference call with minister for public health, sport and wellbeing Mairi Gougeon to discuss the scenes in Glasgow on Sunday night.‘
‘It’s understood the government, cops and health officials are worried that fans of both sides could descend on the outskirts of the stadium with the potential for serious public order concerns.’
On a regular Glasgow Derby match day, there would be a heavy police presence and divide between the support.
These aren’t ordinary times and we’re still all locked down in the midst of a pandemic. Not that you would know that from this weekend and the way official staff behaved in Govan.
The fear of Celtic fans turning up to support the team and somehow stop rival fans from congregating and being given cart blanche by the police to have a party appears to be fuelling these talks.
Celtic fans and any other supporters should be staying away from the ground and doing their bit so we can approach the end of a strict lockdown before the summer.
Football is a massive thing for all of us but right now, let’s be sensible.
Lockdowns have been proven not to work.

Try telling that to the relatives of the hundreds of thousands worldwide that have lost loved ones to the pandemic already and to the others unable to visit friends/family currently in hospital with covid 19 and other serious illnesses ,or the NHS workers currently working round the clock to treat them.

Let’s show them up by showing them how to behave by staying at home and insisting that the Scottish Government and the SFA punish the the guilty, the police who did next to nothing about it (7 fixed penalty notices… a joke)especially those officers who joined in and therefore encouraged the law breaking mob further, the manager who drove through the crowd window open, fist pumping, no mask, and singing along with a bigoted sectarian sing song.
