With the League Cup final against Rangers set for December 15th, ticket allocations have once again brought Hampden Park’s capacity and distribution into question.
Despite the stadium holding around 50,000 fans for this type of fixture, a significant chunk of seats are set aside for hospitality and corporate purposes, leaving fewer tickets for the average supporter.
CeltsAreHere can reveal that Celtic’s ticket allocation for this match is 20,708. Rangers are expected to receive a similar number, meaning around 41,416 seats will be split between both sets of fans. That leaves approximately 8,500 tickets unaccounted for, likely reserved for hospitality packages, sponsors, and other non-supporter groups.
The situation has frustrated many fans, who feel that major fixtures like this should prioritise those who follow their team week in, week out. While the 50/50 split ensures fairness between the two clubs, the thousands of seats that will be occupied by corporate attendees and hospitality packages that can run into the thousands leaves a bitter taste for some Celtic fans who have attended every round of the competition until the final.
For Celtic supporters fortunate enough to secure a ticket through the club’s ballot, the focus now turns to ensuring their place in the stands. However, for those left without, the question remains: why are so many seats unavailable to the very people who have supported Celtic through the competition and all season?
Money talks….fan’s 40,000 + allocation generates £ 1,600,000. The corporate 8,000 + generates around £ 8,000,000. Hampden ( or a new National Stadium ) needs to be doubled in size.
That’s why hampden was bought but Queens park ameture club still allowed to play their we scotland should have followed Spain and have our internationals spread between clubs in spl and semi finals and finals of cups at Murray field and those clubs that can’t fill the ground play in a spl pitch we gave seen lately clubs copying sevco and celtic in cutting each other’s tickets allowance but they can fill there ground other teams can’t Kilmarnock against Celtic 3rd empty stadium st johnstone us going to give glasgow clubs three sides of there stadium common sense sfa don’t have there only interest in there offices and corporate or should I say corrupt seats and hospitality yes clubs should get some tickets sponsors to but sfa members yes one ticket each we all know people that never spend a penny into our game will get tickets these tickets should not be allowed to sell on hampden is a nightmare for normal supporters with travel service poor if any at all viewing poor facilities toilets food disgusting
Once again I did not get the “ballot”! Ridiculous!! I know it’s a bas***d of a trip but I would rather go to Edinburgh Murrayfield than watch it on the tv. This is 3 from the last 4 Rangers Hampden matches I have missed. Max I should miss 1 in 3, if I’m being generous.
Simple solution is to hold the final at Celtic park (higher capacity)
Fans refuse to buy tickets with so many being given to non supporters, see how that changes the SPFL & SFA mindset.
Let the authorities know by no bums on seats that football is for the clubs fans, not the klingons.
Let the fat cats create the atmosphere.
At least if you are in the HCTS you have a chance of a ticket.
What about having a pop at Celtic who refuse to give STH even the chance of away tickets for league games?
Total closed shop, same entitled fans who get to go to every away game, many of them persist with the pyros, IRA nonsense etc and then wonder why other clubs fans are sick of it and our allocation being cut club by club.
Same ballot system should exist for league aways.
We all pay the same for a ST so why the 2 tier system for away tickets?
And then we’d be subjected to your constant whining about other fans who don’t fit into your narrow-minded bollocks
What a treat to hear from the fawning GB groupie.
Something very touching, if thats the word, about a middle aged man who worships young neds with such fanatical devotion
The vast majority of Celtic fans support the GB.
Bitter, small minded bigots who ape the anti-Celtic media agenda are, thankfully, a tiny minority.
Don’t just blame the SFA and SPFL for this.
Celtic are as likely to take some of their 20k allocation and tart it up for corporate sell on, with a cheap lunch and overpriced drinks package at CP pre and post match.
Football left the average working man and woman behind a long time ago
