We reported the SPFL plans yesterday to curtail all lower divisions, crowning winners and losers of each division. The provision also stipulates the Premiership would be dealt with the same way, but only after every option was exhausted to end the season.

This is getting set to head to a vote with clubs having until Friday 5pm to get their vote in.

For the vote to pass, 75% of the top flight clubs must agree to it, 75% of championship clubs and 75% of League one and Two clubs combined.

SPFL: Nine Clubs Must Vote For

Championship: Nine Clubs Must Vote For

League One & Two: Fifteen Clubs Must Vote For

The Glasgow Times report this is each SPFL Clubs voting intention:

CELTIC – FOR

RANGERS* – AGAINST

MOTHERWELL – FOR

ABERDEEN – FOR

LIVINGSTON – FOR

ST JOHNSTONE – FOR

HIBS – AGAINST

KILMARNOCK – FOR

ST MIRREN – FOR

ROSS COUNTY – FOR

HAMILTON – FOR

HEARTS – AGAINST

Nine apparently voting FOR. However, it would only take one club to change their mind for this proposal to go back up for discussion.

It is a big thing to relegate clubs on current standings. Both the SPFL and Championship have runaway leaders so naming champions is the easy part.

  1. Crikey, imagine what’s happening at Ipox. The phones are all busy phoning all their ‘pals’ in the SPL. There will be favours offered and wee masons handshakes to get the result the Klan want. They’ll all be on mobiles, ‘calls free’ since they have no money. The offers and promises will be substantial. Johnston, the half league person, will be on bended knee to get what he wants. Keep on grovelling you sad, sad, people.
Nudge, Nudge, Wink, Wink, know what I mean……
