Revealed: How Much It Would Cost Celtic To Play Games Down South

Over the past few weeks, the possibility of fans being allowed back inside stadiums when the winter break comes to an end has been high on the list of thoughts for supporters and clubs.

With no change to the current Covid-19 restrictions, which only allows 500 spectators inside football grounds, clubs are reportedly considering several different options to have supporters back at games from the 17th of January onwards.

One of those options is thought to be moving Scottish Premiership fixtures down south, with the differing rules that would then allow fans to attend games once again.

Although it seems slightly unlikely to take place, a report from the Daily Mail has revealed how much it would cost Celtic if they were to move their up-and-coming fixtures down south.

They claim that clubs in England would demand at least £250,000, which would likely only be feasible for Celtic and Glasgow rivals Rangers.

The report also states that several clubs down south would welcome the move, which would add extra funds to their January transfer budget.

It would certainly come as a surprise to see clubs go down this route. However, it is interesting to see that the organisations are looking into several different possibilities of getting supporters back inside grounds.
