Celtic have been looking around for another centre-back; Shane Duffy was signed last week but with Neil Lennon keen on playing a 3-5-2 and Kristoffer Ajer’s future still to be properly settled, there’s still room for another defender.
Sky Sports journalist, Anthony Joseph has tonight reported the club DID make initial contact with Sampdoria about bringing Omar Colley to the club but after initial talks, they have not followed up with anything else at the moment.
Sky Sports have also revealed the defender has a £10.8m minimum fee release clause which if triggered would allow Omar to move.
Our colleagues at @SkySport have confirmed that Celtic target Omar Colley has a release clause of £10.8m in his current Sampdoria contract.
The Hoops made an inquiry for the centre-back last week, but have not followed up their interest with any bids at this stage.

Celtic would have to break their transfer record which is set at £9m with Odsonne Edouard to make the deal happen. Unless the club can bring the price down, there’s no way Omar is a viable option. Celtic spent £7m on Christopher Jullien last summer so they have shown they will go high enough for the right player.
