JOZO SIMUNOVIC will go under the knife to try and find an answer to his injury woes. The Croatian has been missing from the team this month and was sent to a specialist about a recurring knee injury.

The result of the consultation was the player being recommended for arthroscopic surgery; a minimally evasive procedure. The recovery time is anything up to six weeks before you start to feel the benefit of the operation.

This would rule the defender out for the next six weeks for sure. Even if Jozo recovers earlier than expected he will still have to get match fit before coming back into the fold.

In his absence, Christopher Jullien and Kristoffer Ajer will be the preferred centre-back pair but Hatem Elhamed can also play at the back if Neil Lennon wanted to bring Moritz Bauer into play at right-back. Celtic surprisingly equipped to deal with an injury in defence for the first time in two years.
