Hearts had two men sent off in the closing stages of Celtic’s win that saw them create a gap at the top of the table.

Kevin Clancy didn’t have the greatest game, but by no means was it his poorest, the decisions were spot on, and no one can have any complaints about them, apart from Ricky Foster and Robbie Neilson.

On Sportscene, the former Rangers man was bemused as to how Sibbick received his marching orders. It was his second yellow and deserved both bookings; it’s hard to see how it can be branded ‘soft’.

Somehow, Foster has managed to make a fuss about the sending-offs, saying; [Football Scotland]

“I think both initial yellow cards are fine, second yellows are soft.

“The second Sibbick one. Yes, he pushes the player, but Hearts have got a covering defender, and I just don’t think the referee has to book him.

“It’s a minute to go in the game. It’s silly from Sibbick to put his hands on him, and technically, it probably should be a booking.

“But that late in the game when there’s a covering defender, just warn him, and you don’t have to send him off.”

The best part is, he’s admitted it’s a second booking but is still giving the referee a hard time for brandishing a red. The standard of punditry in this country is low; how can anyone be paid to make a bizarre claim like that?

The referee was correct in sending both players off, and managed that side of the game relitvely well on Sunday.

  1. What do you expect from a guy who said the best player in the league was a player who couldn’t even get a game for Rangers?

  2. The highlights are questionable – why did they not show the free kick which led to the second goal at the end in the first half be disallowed – n0 discussion no debate
