The Daily Record put out a story today with an erroneous headline which made some believe Leigh Griffiths house or car had been attacked.

We’re here to set the record straight, quite literally.

Leigh Griffiths name being mentioned in this article at all is bizarre. Apparently, a neighbour in Leigh’s street had his car torched and as a precautionary measure, his family left the house for their own safety until the fire was put out.

That’s it.

So the story should have been about a car in Glasgow being firebombed, why Leigh was put in the top of the headline and his house was suggested as scorched was so misleading.

Leigh is currently on international duty and wasn’t home when the incident happened. The Celtic striker got his first call up in over two years this month and scored a very important penalty to help Scotland on their way to the Euros.

The Record doesn’t tend to go all out like this in a headline, it’s poor and had many supporters believing harm had somehow come to Leigh.
