There has been more than a little opposition to Celtic charging supporters the same amount for watching a game on TV as they would in person.

The club have read the room wrong and at a time of financial uncertainty for a lot of their support, they haven’t been accommodating. There’s a scenario where a household with more than one season book will be paying thousands to watch games on the TV with no discount being offered for those households – it stinks.

Supporters were not shy at making their voices heard in this instance. The club who make money off the back of a slogan ‘a club like no other’ is very much acting like a club like every other.

Here is some responses to the news:

We understand Celtic is a business, but loyal supporters are being taken advantage of at a time when we’re all struggling to keep our head above water. There will be long term season ticket holders who will inevitably lose their seat this year because of the decisions made here – a sad thing to happen.

  1. I am sick of this. I know season ticket holders who go to live games and they pay a good amount of money to watch the Hoops. I don’t go to live games but I still pay to watch Celtic on CTV the day after the game has been played. I have never moaned or groaned about not having coverage of live games and I have subscribed to CTV since it’s conception. But now I am really angry. I know a lot of STH have CTV as well as their Season Tickets, but fans like myself are still putting money into our club yearly. So far no-one has given a thought to fans like myself from UK & RoI who pay our money only to get replays of games and others fans from abroad who pay same price as myself who get all live game streams from Celtic Park whether it be SPFL or European games. Would be nice if someone made a stand for us who subscribe yearly only to get replays. If I could afford a Season Ticket I would willingly apply for one but it’s not financially viable for me (and I am sure there are many others in the same financial situation as myself) and I certaintly wont get into debt for a Season Ticket I can’t afford.

    • Didn’t think BT will be in on this, I’m sure they will not be covering the games. Thought it was only the company that BT use that are doing the same for CTV. I maybe wrong but that’s how I read the article.
