Peter Grant has criticised Dundee United over their decision to hike away ticket prices for Celtic fans ahead of Saturday’s crucial Premiership clash at Tannadice, branding the move “ridiculous” and calling for stronger regulation from the SPFL.

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show, the former Celtic midfielder didn’t hold back in his assessment of the situation: “I just don’t know how they work it out. Exactly. I think it’s ridiculous.

“And I think it’s ridiculous clubs are allowed to do it. They shouldn’t be allowed to do it and I know they say it’s policing and whatever.

“Listen, if you had more supporters supporting your own team, you’d need the same policing week in, week out. Be successful on your own.”

Celtic can officially secure the Premiership title this Saturday if they avoid defeat in Dundee. Kick-off is scheduled for 12:30pm, and the match is expected to draw significant interest with the Hoops on the brink of silverware.

The fallout from Dundee United’s pricing policy continues, with the Tayside club charging Celtic fans up to £42 for a seat—while offering some home tickets for as little as £10. The SPFL has yet to rule on whether this constitutes a breach of league regulations, and Celtic have already raised their concerns formally.

Despite the controversy, the club has confirmed it will proceed with the allocation of 3,776 tickets to supporters who have attended nine or more away games this season. The decision ensures fans won’t miss the chance to witness a potential title win, even as the wider dispute simmers on.
