Celtic take on Riga this evening inside the Skonto Stadium in Latvia. The prize? A place in the playoff round of the Europa League.

It might not be the flashy lights of the Champions League but it’s a competition where Celtic could and should be laying down a marker. We topped our group last season before being beaten by Copenhagen in the final 32. This year, could we go one or two better?

Neil Lennon has a big squad to choose from and very little fresh injury worries.

Latest team news:

  • Christopher Jullien has not travelled with the squad due to a back injury.
  • Mikey Johnston is still unavailable as he rehabs from his last op.
  • Leigh Griffiths is available for selection if the Celtic manager wants to use the Scottish striker in any capacity.
  • Edouard is expected to start after being rested on Sarturday against Livingston.

All eyes are on Neil Lennon and if he’ll continue with his 3-5-2.

Celtic should be too much for Riga, but how many times have we said that. It’s very important the bhoys are at it from the off.
