CELTIC look like they’re closing on a deal for Scottland international and Celtic supporter Robert Snodgrass as the window gets set to shut on Monday evening.

This move seems to give us a bit of insight into how long James Forrest may be out for. Snodgrass plays predominantly on the right but could play across the whole midfield.

The deal has come from nowhere with RecordSport reporting the deal looks set to be completed before the deadline.

As always, when we look at loan deal from Premier League clubs, we look at the financial viability of any deal.

Right now, according to Spotrac, Robert Snodgrass is earning £40kpw at the London club, still very high but not hitting the heights of a £60k Elyounoussi or £70k Fraser Forster [Spotrac].

It’s very conceivable Celtic will pick up a certain percentage of Robert’s wages but not hit the full amount. He would come into the squad not guaranteed a start, so Celtic would not be in a position or even want to pay 100% of the midfielder’s wages,
