Rocco Vata was demoted back down to Celtic’s youth ranks after pre-season, although, according to the Daily Record, he has recently returned to the first-team fold. The Irish youth international’s stunning early season form for the B side has aided him in such a move.

In 2023/24 so far, Vata has bagged six goals in five appearances in the Lowland League for the Bhoys. A shift to a central striking role rather than his previous wide position is said to have helped the 18-year-old’s upturn in form.

With a year left on his deal, Vata is yet to commit his long-term future to the Hoops. Torino and Club Brugge are two sides interested in deals for the youngster should his Celtic contract run out.

He recently switched agents to CAA Base, but hope among the Parkhead faithful is that the young attacker eventually puts pen to paper. He is one of the brightest talents at the club, and it would be encouraging to see Vata receive some opportunities to show his capabilities under Rodgers and attempt to earn a new contract.
