Celtic B lost out to Berwick Rangers on Saturday afternoon. Although the young Bhoys went a goal up early doors, the hosts turned things around and ended up 2-1 winners thanks to a late stoppage-time goal.

For the Hoops, there were starts for the likes of Josh Dede, Kyle Ure, Mackenzie Carse and, most notably, Rocco Vata. The Irish youth international has been left out of the Celtic first-team under Brendan Rodgers after regularly featuring towards the end of last season.

Rocco Vata

Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph recently reported that the management’s stance on Vata has altered and that he will not sign a new deal nor go out on loan. Due to this, a permanent move away from Glasgow is likely for the 18-year-old.

That didn’t stop Vata from netting against Berwick, though. His strike put the young Celts 1-0 up 14 minutes in. The attacker is continually impressing for Celtic B but, clearly, is not rated by the likes of Brendan Rodgers.

It will be disappointing to see yet another young talent move on from Parkhead but at the end of the day, trust must be put in the manager and his judgement.
