BRENDAN RODGERS has told Celtic fans his ‘natural frustration’ boiled over in press conferences in the immediate aftermath of the Athens defeat and a whole summer of missing transfer targets.

The Irishman said he is not a person who can hide his frustration very well and it was a testing time.

There was clearly some heat between Brendan Rodgers and the board and the gaffer admits as much below.

However, he and the board accept when they both work in close quarters, there is going to be a certain amount of butting of heads.

What’s important is how you get past that.

Brendan takes a huge amount of pride in his position and when things weren’t happening he knows the buck stops with him so it’s only human he reacted the way he did.

Speaking before Celtic’s game against Hamilton Rodgers spoke about his frustrations.

“It’s not rocket science” when people say Celtic should have been busier in the window.

“I’m not one that can hide it very well, I wasn’t hiding it very well at all,” Rodgers told Celtic TV.

“There was a natural frustration because as a manager and leader of the team, you want to continue pushing forward.

“But you come away and review and reflect. What’s great about my relationship with the board is that, when you work so closely together, it’s only human that you won’t always agree.

“If you work closely with people you’re not always going to agree.”
