BRENDAN RODGERS has refused to add fuel to the speculation Celtic are about to land PSG youngster Timothy Weah on an 18-month loan deal.

Reports this week suggested the player was on his way to Celtic Park with the striker adding to the speculation by admitting he would be leaving the club on-loan before following most of the Celtic squad on Instagram.

When asked about the deal, Brendan Rodgers played his cards very close to his chest.

“There is nothing to add, other than the fact he is the son of George, who was a very good player.” Rodgers told CelticTV.

“Of course we want to bring in some players in January and he is a very talented kid, but there is nothing else.”

Rodgers spoke last week about needing TWO strikers in this January in order for the squad to cope with the demands of fighting on several fronts.

The Irishman saw Dembele leave in the summer and now has Leigh Griffiths out for a prolonged period to sort out his personal issues.

That’s his two main strikers over the past two seasons out of the picture.

Odsonne Edouard has been doing well in their absence BUT he certainly needs help.

Weah is expected to make the move to Glasgow early January and join Celtic on their winter training camp in Dubai.
