BRENDAN RODGERS has all but sealed Patrick Roberts departure speaking about the young Englishman today.

With Roberts interview last week confirming he plans to try and make a name for himself down south, anyone with a scintilla of hope that Celtic would try and change their mind will have their hopes dashed.

Brendan spoke today about the need for freshening up the squad for next term and citing that Roberts will be a player who will be missed.

Lewis Morgan and Ryan Christie will both be trying to dislodge James Forrest from his position next season with Roberts no longer in the running – both will feel they can stake a legitimate claim for a place in this Celtic side.

  1. I actually think come transfer deadline day we will see Christie moving on in a permanent deal somewhere, but young Morgan should certainly be an exciting prospect with lots of potential to hit make a name for himself, hopefully.

  2. Mr Forrest has got it all to do next season so won’t get away with hiding behind opposition players when he doesn’t want the pressure or can’t be arsed taking the game by the scruff of the neck. Good luck Paddy it was a pleasure to see you in the hoops only wish we had got you tied down last year when everybody seemed up for it at one point. Good bless

  3. All the best Paddy. We seen brief glimpses of the phenomenal player I think you can be with an injury-free run in a team. Maybe see you back at Paradise one day?

  4. I am absolutely gutted about this news Paddy Roberts is the most exciting player to have pulled on the hoops for a long time, injuries this season have been a nightmare for the laddie but I honestly thought we would try and sign him permanently as he can change a game and sees things other players can’t , I really do wish him all the best and I for 1 will definitely be keeping a close eye on his career and I really hope he can kick on . Thanks again Paddy for the memories I really hope we can see you in the famous Green and White hoops again one day . HAIL HAIL absolutely gutted 💚💚💚💚
