BRENDAN RODGERS has confirmed there has been interest in TWO of his young stars as the transfer window starts to heat up.

Speaking back in Dubai, the Celtic manager made it clear he wants to see both Lewis Morgan and Jack Hendry head out on loan for the second half of the season.

When asked if there had been any interest in either player, Rodgers responded: “There has been interest in both on them Rodgers told CelticTV. “Their agents are obviously working or see what’s going to be the next option

“In the meantime, they’re focused and continue to work well here. It’s important not to just find a club, but the right club to get them game time.”

Morgan officially became a Celtic player in the summer after initially being loaned back to St Mirren when the club signed him last January. His game time has been sporadic, and with so many players vying for those attacking midfield slots, Rodgers believes the best way to continue his development is for young Lewis to get game time elsewhere.

Jack Hendry was also signed last January and has not fared too well since coming into the first team. Hendry has had to come in due to injuries and has looked a bit out of place at times.

Getting game time will certainly help his cause.

  1. I would be happy to see Lewis Morgan going out on loan to gather more experience. However in the case of Jack Hendry I am firmly of the opinion that he should be subject to a permanent deal away from Parkhead as he is simply not up to the job in hand. I’m all for buying good young Scottish talent but I’ve seen nothing in Hendry that fills me with hope that he is a reliable defender.
