CHRIS SUTTON has warned Celtic fans if Brendan Rodgers does achieve the amazing feat of a double treble, that the Irishman might move on sooner than expected.

The former Celtic striker believes Rodgers would be a perfect fit for a top job down south and Rodgers could struggle next term getting into Europe with Celtic.

“The interesting thing from Brendan’s point of view is that if he wins the double Treble – and it would be an unbelievable achievement and never been done before, the pressure will be on in Europe,”

“We’ve all seen the European performances this season. Does he see this squad competing in the Champions League with four qualifiers next season?”

“In England there are people who are being disrespectful about Scottish football and Celtic and saying it’s a load of rubbish and anyone could do what he’s doing.

“They are asking if he should be given a chance if a big gun comes in. Arsenal have been mentioned and is reportedly on a four-man shortlist for Chelsea.”

  1. A big gun ? With all due respect both Arsenal and Chelsea combined are less than half the club Celtic are .

The EPL is a poor league in everything but money .

Rodgers may very well leave but he will never manage a bigger club unless he manages Real Madrid or Barcelona one day .

  2. I suppose Chris has to fill his column somehow. I’m surprised he has gone down this route . If Brendan does manage the feat of a double treble it will go down in history. If however, he gets us to ten in a row, he will not have to buy another drink in his lifetime and beyond. I don’t think he needs the egotistical English league. He is happy where he is. The challenge isn’t in Europe , the fans know where we are with them, we enjoy the fantastic nights at Parkhead but this is an addition to our season not the be all and end all. Ten in a row is the goal Chris and well you know it. ??????

  3. ONCE AGAIN MR FOOTBALL MR KNOWALL FLAPPIN HIS TONGUE. CANT UNDERSTAND WHY SO MANY CELTIC SUPPORTERS LIKE THIS PUNDIT, AT THE END OF THE DAY IF BRENDAN DECIDES TO LEAVE IT WILL BE HIS DESICION AND FOR HIS REASONS , NOT SPECULATIONS. I THINK THAT HE HAS LONG TERM PLANS FOR CELTIC BUT THINGS WILL RIDE ON THE BOARD PARTING WITH CASH , HE SPPESRS TO BE HAPPY IN SCOTLAND AND WITH CELTIC , AND CONTENT WITH HIS LIFE . HE STILL HAS MANY A CHALLANGE WITH CELTIC . AND THINK HE WILL SEE IT OUT FOR THE TEN IN A ROW .I WOULD LOVE TO SEE BRENDAN STAY HE IS A GREAT MAN AND MANAGER GOD BLESS HIM .

  4. No way why would he leave Celtic?? Why would he leave to manage a INFERIOR team to theCeltic. Its not long ago Liverpool dumped him despite being a slip away from the EPL Title.
His next task is to see Celtic performing as befits the First British to win what is now the Champions League.
Leave for minor EPL team would do a Liverpool at the first sign of not getting what they think they deserve.

Why go looking for English shite Nd grief from a bunch of English morons. HH
