BRENDAN RODGERS has given an update on Scott Brown’s contract situation and believes the Celtic captain has earned the right to consider all options before finalising any deal with the club.

The Celtic manager was very clear though when he told fans not to take that as Scott Brown not being committed to Celtic.

The Celtic star has definite interest from Australia and there was speculation yesterday surrounding interest in the midfielder from the MLS.

Broony is coming into the last six months of his contract but he and the club are still very relaxed about the latest contract extension.

Speaking about the current contract situation, Rodgers said: He loves it here and there will be an agreement between him and the club in relation to that,”

“If he has options in this last period of his career, then he probably needs time to look at that. But that shouldn’t be taken by any Celtic supporters that he doesn’t want to be here. He’s been absolutely top class for me and we want him to stay of course.” told CelticTV.

Brown has been out of Celtic’s last five games but is close to making a return to the first team. The Captain COULD make the Hamilton game on Saturday but it’s more likely he will be on the plane to Norway for Celtic’s tie with Rosenborg on Thursday.
