BRENDAN RODGERS has told Celtic fans Scott Brown has undergone a scan today to check on any possible issues after being subbed in the first half of the Hibs game.

The Celtic captain was forced to come off after Rodgers admitted Broony wanted to play on but he was in a tremendous amount of pain.

Celtic fly out to Germany on Wednesday and at the moment it looks highly unlikely Scott Brown will be part of the travelling squad.

Speaking to Celtic TV the manager gave the very latest and made it clear Brown’s substitution on Saturday was nothing to do with his age or trying to manage him.

“We’re just awaiting the scan results from today”

“There a problem just below his knee at the top of his calf. We just have to wait and see on that.

“It had nothing to do with his age, it was an injury that was very sore and painful for him and even then at the time he didn’t want to come off.

“You could see at the time he was struggling with mobility and ability”

“It was a real sore one for him but like I say, we’ll just have to wait for the scan to come through”
