CELTIC are on the verge of their seventh league title, and that should be celebrated when the team hopefully get over the line in two weeks.

The league isn’t a worry for Celtic fans, while the team haven’t been anywhere near the standard they set last term, they’ve always been good enough to make sure of seven in a row.

However, Celtic have a massive seme final to play against their Glasgow rivals next week, and the Celtic boss can’t be sure of his best XI.

The predictability and stuttering form by some players who come in and out of the team regularly mean the Irishman cannot be clear on who is best XI is.

I think you’d be hard pressed to find an overwhelming consensus from Celtic fans on who our best XI is either.

Last year, the team picked itself most games. The biggest conversation was always Moussa or Leigh, the defence and midfielders had their place, and we had free flowing football as a result.

With players out of form and a mid season injury crises hampering any sort of continuity, Rodgers was forced to field patched up teams, and since then there’s been a real struggle to get a performance out of the team to get the Celtic fans purring.

People will always jump on your back when the team are winning, and you’ve got something other than positive to say, but it’s hard to get away from the fact Celtic fans have walked out of games more often than not saying ‘not great, but job done’. We all love to win but the Celtic fans like to be entertained when possible, and the entertainment factor has been in short supply.

Rodgers will, of course, learn from this season and look to have a more settled team next term. Some players are just off the boil and for a variety of reasons.

They still have the chance to finish very strong, and they showed glimpses against Ross County that when they get going, Celtic can be the team we know they can be.

That’s probably the most frustrating thing, we know they can play some great stuff, it’s just not happening.
