BRENDAN RODGERS has told the gathered media that he ‘expects’ new faces in at Celtic before the window shuts in two weeks time.

Fans have been waiting patiently for news on potential new signings but Rodgers gives his biggest indication to date that there will be new players coming in.

This was after he dropped the injury news that his new signing Marvin Compper would be out for 3-4 weeks with an injury.

When it comes to Dembele though, the manager’s stance has always been the same. He doesn’t expect the Frenchman to leave this window but he won’t rule it out.

Celtic are back in action against Brechin in the Scottish Cup on Saturday and will hopefully field a rejuvenated side after a winter break in Dubai.

  1. Totally agree Tim Big Erik is better than Jozo and Boyata. I think we need to replace Lustig as well. Hoping that Ralston starts on Saturday. Brendan ‘expected’ to get all his business done early in the window. Now Celtic have two weeks to find 3 players at least with selling clubs realising we are desperate the prices will go up. Looks like another pathetic window from the Hoops. Hope to be proved wrong. Both Aberdeen and Sevco might be stronger with players going out we might be weaker. But Big Pete will be ker-chinging all the way to the bank. Looks like it will be transfers that pay for the bloody hotel. Someone needs to remind them that the business of Celtic is football that is the focus. If Pete and the Tories could get away with it they would turn Celtic into an exhibition team, like the Harlem globetrotters. No need to sign good players just re-sign any of the old heroes of about 50 years of age. Get them playing legends matches and touring America and Australia with beam backs to Celtic Park. Corporate events at the new hotel. Just completely abandon competitive football as it is too expensive. They have already abandoned ompetittive football in Europe anyway. Just go the whole hog!

  2. Some fans need to seriously calm down and trust in Brendan, you know the manager who has lost one league game in over a season and a half???!!! Yes we would all love a great CB or two to be brought in but if we cant get exactly who we want why bring in deadwood who will end up on our bench claiming wasted wages. Compper will prove an astute signing he’s just been unfortunate to pick up an injury. One positive is it will give Ajer another few matches to improve and showcase his talents. Fans also wearing slightly tinted glasses when it come to Erik who was also massively injury prone and also had a severe lack of pace. If he wasn’t going to play we may as well get him off our books

  3. Ffs were a football team get your opinions on the tories onto political forums.Everyone and their sister knows our need for players, therefore the prices go up immeasurably and no club is going to sign players for way over the odds. If come the end of the window and things aren’t any better by all means have a go.But theres too many with fanciful notions of how bad our team is and where we’re going wrong. Were hamstrung by the country we play in and that affects everything

  4.
