Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed how his Celtic side will focus on Aberdeen immediately after this afternoon’s 2-1 defeat to Hibernian at Easter Road.

Celtic face Aberdeen on Tuesday night at Celtic Park, with Rodgers now looking to move on from the controversial loss against David Gray’s side, which saw a late Daizen Maeda equaliser controversially ruled out by VAR, with Alan Muir alleging the ball went out of play in the build-up

For Celtic, though, they did receive a boost in the hours following the game, with Rangers losing 2-0 at Ibrox against St Mirren, meaning Philippe Clement’s side did not close the gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

With Rangers in action against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Wednesday night, Celtic have the chance to go 16 points clear, with questions surrounding Philippe Clement’s future at Rangers.

Rodgers himself was level-headed post-match, not letting the defeat against Hibs rest on his mind for too long, instead previewing the challenge Celtic will face against Aberdeen on Tuesday

He said: (The Celtic Way), “It’s a disappointing result for us, no doubt.

“But tomorrow, we get back on the horse again, get our recovery started and get ready for Aberdeen on Tuesday night, which is an important game for us.

“In the second half, you’ve seen there’s lots of energy, especially when the ball hits the back of the net. So we’ll analyse the game. No real time to overthink it”

For Celtic, with such a little turnaround ahead of Aberdeen, Rodgers knows he can’t afford to dwell on this afternoon’s game. Instead, they face the only team domestically to get a result at Celtic Park this season next up.

Back in October, Aberdeen secured a 2-2 draw at Celtic Park despite Celtic leading 2-0 at halftime. Celtic will be highly motivated for Tuesday, with Aberdeen’s dismal form recently coming to an end.
