BRENDAN RODGERS is about to get serious with Odsonne Edouard as Celtic’s hectic Christmas schedule bites.

The Frenchman who had to wait a long time for a chance to show what he can do burst onto the scene against Motherwell, bagging a hat-trick and the praise of his manager.

The striker left such an impression on the Celtic Manager Edourd was preferred to Leigh Griffiths on Tuesday when Celtic were in search of a goal against Anderlecht. Although the youngster didn’t score he looked sharp when he came on.

With The Frenchman on-loan and Celtic having first refusal on a permanent deal, Brendan Rodgers is about to unleash the striker as the fixture lost piles up before the winter shutdown.

Celtic’s first option on the striker is said to be around €8million – the thought might be, sell Dembele for record fee then use the cash to secure Odsonne Edouard on a long term dea should be impress between now and May.

  1. BUy him on the evidence of one full ninety minutes , don’t think we would be so hasty, he has the remainder of this season to impress and then we should decide not on the little we’ve seen so far

  2. All we have seen is a full 90 minutes , albeit with a credible hat trick, which is a great start, and 3 or 4 sub appearances, I would like to think the boy will emerge as a serious contender, but he has a short time to prove it. Good luck to him though.

  3. As much as i like Griffiths,He has got a Soft Spit for Hibs and last time we played Hibs,Griffiths wasnt on his game that day!!!Give Odsonne a run in the team lets see what he is really made of…If any team was going to beat us,Id rather its Hibernian.HH
