BRENDAN RODGERS has given a major injury update for Celtic’s match against St Johnstone this weekend.

The bhoys knocked the Saints out of the Betfred League Cup just a couple of weeks ago and the home side are looking for revenge.

For Celtic, it’s all about continuing the momentum domestically after a win against Aberdeen last Saturday.

However, Brendan Rodgers has dropped the bombshell that Scott Brown will play no part in the fixture and will join up with the team after the international break which comes into effect after this weekend.

There will be 13 days between when Celtic play against St Johnstone and their next fixture in late October.

There is some good news on the injury front with the Celtic manager declared Tom Rogic fit for the St Johnstone game.

There is also an outside chance of Filip Benkovic making the game with the young loan defender back in training.

Speaking about injuries Rodgers said –

“Tom Rogic is available. Filip Benkovic will train so we’ll see how he is.”

Scott Brown will be out for the weekend but will rejoin training after the International break.”

It’s up to Mulumbu to fill that void.

  1. Absolutely no problem with Mulumbu coming in as he was our best player last night
and I have mentioned him on here since he signed.

  2. We do not have 2 players on each wing able to keep an attack going we play wing back play that is stopped with 2 defenders play. We take loads of corners yet produce nothing to me if there are 6 defenders in the box their should be 6 attackers in there also, and strikers need not apply for taking corners
