BRENDAN RODGERS gave a subtle hint that there are no new signings immediately in the offing as he prepared his squad for Rosenborg.

The Irishman was asked about recruitment and while he said Celtic are keen to strengthen he is currently concentrating on improving his squad from within and seeing his players develop.

“I enjoy the continuity of coaching and watching players improve. Of course, we want to strengthen the squad but at this point in the time, what’s most essential is building a mentality and quality to get through the qualification games.”

Celtic have been heavily linked with Daniel Azrani and have had three bids rejected from Hibs for John McGinn.

With a month until the window closes Celtic must look at what’s out there and assess their options.

Until then, they have a squad and talent pool big enough to pull off another Champions League qualification.
