BRENDAN RODGERS is reportedly confident of tying down Dedryk Boyata on a new deal when the defender returns to training.
The pair are set for a face to face meeting upon the Belgian’s return where they are set to put all their cards on the table.
Rodgers wants his defender to sign a new long-term deal which will take Boyata into his 30s.
Boyata has been keen to keep his options open until now with the 27-year-old being linked with a few teams down south as well as around Europe.
With the Belgian only six months away from being able to sign a pre-contract, Celtic could see him leave for nothing if they don’t wrap up a deal.
What makes these negotiations even more urgent is the new English transfer window closing in early August.
If Celtic get a negative response from Boyata upon his return, it’s likely both parties will turn to options in England where a deal would have to be done before the start of the new Premier League season.
We should get another Defender,Let him Go.He is a Bombscare. He can be Good but his concentration is questionable at times..HH
