According to Football Insider and their ‘well placed’ source, Celtic have NOT been using the services of Lee Congerton in their January recruitment search.

The website claims Celtic Lee has been frozen out and the club have been using different channels to go about their transfer business.

Congerton was brought in by Rodgers not long into the Irishman’s Celtic career and has been tasked with unearthing new talent much like John Park did at the club for years.

However, two very bad transfer windows in a row have weakened Celtic and the thought of a third bad window is unimaginable.

Last January, Celtic signed Marvin Compper – since then the German has played 80 minutes of professional football for the club and Jack Hendry has taken a back seat after a string of uninspiring performances.

The summer problems have been well documented – if Celtic were able to identify any targets they struggled to get any deals over the line.

Apparently, there has been a lot of movement behind the scene and Rodgers has been in talks with several targets in December.

  1. Is money the source of the problem? Does the board have cold feet as far as team investment is concerned?
Is the biscuit tin still in operation? We don’t seem to be able to get decent quality
signings over the line. Consequences will come home to roost and very quickly too,
if we don’t do the necessary. Sadly.
