BRENDAN RODGERS has reserved special praise for his midfield star as they both picked up awards for their exploits domestically in October.

Rodgers won manager of the month while James Forrest won player of the month as Celtic were unbeaten and romped to victory in all their SPFL games.

Forrest has been on fire, scoring four goals in one game and scoring a third of all Celtic’s goals in the last three games.

James had been inconsistent throughout his Celtic career but the last two seasons a mature, more defined Forrest has come to the forefront.

Rodgers recognises how well he’s done and believes the fans are appreciating him more than ever.

“He’s Absolutely brilliant, his level of performance in the last couple of years has been fantastic”

“I can see him getting better all the time, he’s a really efficient player in terms of creating and scoring goals.

“He understands the concept of the team defensively.

“He’s a joy to work with, he trains every single day, really focused off the field and he absolutely loves playing for Celtic.

“I think it’s great to see him consistently train, his appetite for the game”

“He’s a good funny guy and has a great amount of respect amongst the squad. It’s great the supporters recognise that.”
