Radio DJ and football pundit Steven Mill has stirred the pot with a bold prediction on The Big Scottish Football Podcast, claiming Brendan Rodgers could walk away from Celtic before the season is over.
Rodgers, now in the final year of his three-year deal, has publicly committed to seeing out the current campaign. Since returning to Parkhea, he’s repeatedly insisted he’s focused on leading the team for his full contract and even a few months ago said he would “150%” be in the dugout this season, but his reluctance to speak about the future beyond this season has created a degree of unease among supporters.
Now Mill believes the writing could be on the wall.
“I think that both Celtic and Rangers will have different managers come the final league game of the season,” he said. “I think Rodgers is already making noises of getting a wee bit fed up again. He’s in the final year of his contract. I think Rodgers might be off-ski again.”
The comments come amid a backdrop of growing frustration in the stands over the club’s slow summer transfer business. Rodgers has remained calm in public, but the lack of movement has led many to wonder how long the manager’s patience will hold if reinforcements don’t arrive soon.
Former Hibs and Aberdeen striker Steve Cowan pushed back on the prediction, questioning Mill’s logic.
“The Rangers won a bye. But if they win the league, you’re saying they won’t be there to celebrate winning the league? That’s what you’re saying?”
Mill doubled down, referencing Rodgers’ previous Parkhead exit in 2019: “Well, he didn’t last time. He left in the February.”
The speculation will do little to ease tension among the support, with uncertainty around Rodgers’ future already fuelling anxiety over squad building. As things stand, the Celtic boss insists he’s staying put but not many will be shocked if the prediction turns out to happen.

If I was Rodgers I would walk now.
The penny pinching board are not providing the club with players who are ready to play for the first team especially for the C.L
We have been linked with all sorts of decent players recently but the money men keep making lowball
bids knowing that the selling club will knock them back .
God knows what we will end up with, if any , but you can be guaranteed it will not be what Rodgers asked for.
Result for the Board another wad of cash to add to the pile for their annual bonuses.

I agree, Anthony. What the Board is doing – or rather not doing – is morally reprehensible. They have clearly made the choice not to spend serious money to replace the quality the team has lost, even if that means losing Brendan Rodgers. They run Celtic purely as a business, a feeder club making constant profit on its best players. They couldn’t care less about the football side of things, about the ambitions of the manager or the fans, It’s all just about shareholder value. And they get away with this repeatedly because the bulk of Celtic fans keep buying season tickets and merchandise. They’re laughing all the way to the bank – literally!
If and when Rodgers Does leave this board won’t have much of a choice of top flight managers because of the way they will be treated no transfer money over/under age players,projects, and also no say whatsoever in decision making Dont they think managers of other clubs don’t hear what’s going on at celtic Heed the warning lawwell.
This never ending annual cycle of lowball offers for players ,undermining managers, is really putting our whole support in a collective depression.A support more diverse than ever,that has a bunch of old white men running the show.No ambition,no foresight,out of ideas and out of time.
I sincerely hope the GB give the board a deserved reception on Sunday. If they start the protest the rest of the stadium will join in.
