BRENDAN RODGERS has given Celtic fans a major boost ahead of the weekend’s tie against St Johnstone and the Valencia game next week.

With so many injuries in the last four weeks to contend with, the bhoys have had to make it work with a makeshift squad with the new guys slotting straight into the team to carry the load.

Some major players are out injured and will miss a lot of games between now and the end of the season.

However, there’s cause for celebration after Rodgers revealed three players are ready to come back into the fold; Olivier Ntcham, Odsonne Edouard and James Forrest.

Edouard had just come back from injury to play against St Johnstone last weekend when another unpunished challenge saw the player get stretchered off in Perth. James Forrest also walked up the tunnel early with a hamstring problem leaving the team to see out the game with 10 men. Ntcham has been out since the winter break with the player pulling his hamstring during the first training session in Dubai back in January.

Speaking on all three players, Rodgers told CelticTV:

“Olivier Ntcham will hopefully be back towards the weekend, having been training all week.

“It was brilliant to have Dedryck on there tonight. We asked him to give us 60-70 minutes, he did that and was unfortunate not to score.

“So that’s a plus after having him out for so long.

“Hopefully Odsonne Edouard will be okay by the weekend.

“James Forrest, the scan was clear. So, again, we just need to monitor the tightness.

“Whether he will be available for the weekend or not, I would think he’ll definitely be available for Valencia. We’ll assess it over the coming days.”
