With the highly anticipated, and sold out Celtic vs Hibernian game tomorrow we’ve heard from both Leigh Griffiths and Neil Lennon on how they both won’t celebrate if they find themselves on the winning side due to their affinity for the opposition.

Leigh is a boyhood Hibee and Neil, well, he’s just Celtic to the core.

I once watched Henrik Larsson break 60,000 hearts with one kick of a ball and proceed to walk back to the touchline looking like he’d just ran over a loved one. That night at Celtic Park the Celtic legend but Barca player chose not take part in any celebrations out of respect to his old employers. Barcelona fans understood and Celtic fans did too.

However, while there will be respect shown from both sides tomorrow, you can guarantee Neil and Leigh will both be determined to guide their respective clubs to victory.

Neil Lennon is no stranger to the odd upset at Celtic Park, funnily enough, Barcelona’s name again pops up when you think of Neil Lennon on the touchline at Celtic Park. A cold night in November 2012 at just after quarter to ten an elated Irishman raised his hands to his head and tilted at the sky. That night Neil Lennon’s team produced one of the most breathtaking results in the clubs history. At the time Davie Provan surmised that after Lisbon, he couldn’t think of a bigger result for Celtic. Neil took the plaudits that night and rightly so.

Why do I bring this up?

When Neil comes to Celtic Park tomorrow, the highly competitive manager will be looking to cause another upset. Maybe not on the scale of taking on Messi and co., but to come to Celtic Park and beat a team on a 57 game domestic unbeaten streak would generate some handsome headlines. The former Celts coming back to Parkhead will want to prove why they shouldn’t be ‘former’ Celts – add all this up, and we’re in for a cracker!

With Scott Brown and Stuart Armstrong out for tomorrows game, it will be up to Ntcham and McGregor to deputise and make sure they aren’t missed.

Brendan Rodgers will be taking the threat of Hibs very seriously and will not want to give an inch in the SPFL.
