Brendan Rodgers spoke post-match this afternoon about Celtic’s incredible start to the season.

However, the Irishman was cautious about the upcoming busy run of games over the festive period.

He said: (Sky Sports), “It’s been a fantastic start. We go away with, hopefully, the players from international duty coming back OK, and then we start the real ultra-marathon of games.

“There will be lots of games where we’ll need every single member of the squad, but at this point, we’ve made a fantastic start.

Rodgers will have to manage the players’ fitness with Cameron Carter-Vickers rested this afternoon on the artificial pitch against Kilmarnock.

The grueling winter schedule means that players are more prone to injuries due to having to play more games more often, roughly twice a week and even three games within a week at points.

This will be made easier due to the incredible depth of this Celtic squad, but questions have rightly been raised by Rodgers about the effect this schedule will have on players’ fitness, not just at the Hoops.
