REPORTS yesterday claimed Celtic were looking at making another move for defender Scott McKenna in January after the bhoys had a rather rushed £3.5million bid turned down by Aberdeen in the dying embers of the summer transfer window.

With Celtic scrambling to try and find a centre back so they could let Dedryck Boyata go but the Dons held firm and rejected what many Celtic fans believing that was MORE than a fair price for the defender.

It was later reported Aston Villa had a whopping £6.5million bid rejected for McKenna just before the window closed.

This means the Aberdeen board and McInnes rate the defender higher than £6.5million and if that’s the case Celtic would be mad to try their luck in January.

It’s absolutely Aberdeen’s prerogative to ask for what they like for there player but Celtic should not be party to any deal that would go anywhere near our biggest ever signing Odsonne Edouard at £9million.

Celtic need reinforcements and while Boyata and Benkovic are doing the business right now, it’s unlikely either will be at the club come next season.

It’s vital Rodgers has replacements in mind and blowing a load of money on McKenna would be beyond ridiculous.

  1. What B Rodgers wants B Rodgers gets he is the BOSS, but he must see some thing in S McKenna ,on the plus side we could offer a player plus money,we can see how some players come on under the eye of B Rodgers and if he could bring out the very best in S McKenna then Scotland could have a great CH to call on..
