Celtic have again been linked with Rodrigo Riquelme by Spanish outlet MudoDeptertivo.
It was claimed Celtic had the young Atletico winger scouted last season before the shut down and the report again mentions the interest from Celtic.
Riquelme is predominantly a right-sided winger but can play up top or on the left hand side of a front three if needed. Transfermarkt have the 20-year-olds value at just over the £2m mark at the moment but the youngster is yet to play a first team game.
Our View
This seems like a rehashed story from Spain that the UK media have jumped on. In the article mentioned above, the Spanish outlet doesn’t really say one way or another if the interest from Celtic is still there.
Celtic have a number of positions to fill this summer, a right-winger could be one of them if Neil Lennon believes there’s no viable back up to James Forrest.
At this moment, it looks like there’s not much in it.
