FORMER SPL Chief Roger Mitchell has been highly critical of Celtic this season.
Mitchell, a Celtic fan, believes the club have not been transparent and guiding the fans and team through these troubled times.
He set out rules of engagement when it comes to stopping the spiral of poor results and perceived mismanagement.
Anything he’s called for below, has not been done and Celtic have either been on the defensive or just outright ignored the support.
The rules for managing clubs in "crisis".
1) ownership is visibile and speaks to tribe. Show you care.
2) CEO outlines plans to remedy and bring better future.
Both need to make firm statements on the position of the coach.
3) avoid all sensation of "drift" and "vacuum".— RP Mitchell (@RPMComo) January 21, 2021
We can’t win forever, but the spectacular collapse this season has given us no hope for the immediate future. Next season looks bleak without leadership and change; we’re being offered none of these things by the club at the moment.
Celtic have been so successful, with great sucres over the past ten years but this project has failed to get over the line and looks dead on its feet. We need to deal with the here and now, downsizing of the club over the past two years has come home to roost. It was a risk not to continue Brendan Rodgers legacy and bring the professionalism of the club down. It’s a risk which delivered another treble, but if you look at all competitions last season, we rode our luck in the League Cup, we just got over the line in the Scottish Cup and we had to push very hard this time last year to evade our rivals. We were clearly regressing and this season everything culminated into one big spiral.
